Shannon, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

I have always been passionate about volunteering in my community. I decided it was time to pursue my goal of having a career that more directly reflected my desire to help community members to live healthier, better lives!

What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?

The Healthy Acadia initiatives are so important to the communities we serve. I am excited about the opportunity to help share nutrition-based programming with our community members.

What most inspires you on a personal level?

I am inspired by the idea that each of us has the power to positively impact those around us if we are willing to take steps each day to do so.

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

I love spending time hiking, photographing, and exploring the outdoors. Maine is such a beautiful, ecologically diverse state and I want to see it all! Nature is where we can go to connect to ourselves, our surroundings, our food sources, and to clear our minds.

I am an avid outdoorswoman and I love spending time in nature with my family. I also enjoy gardening, photography, and volunteering with youth organizations.
